About Us
Demarle at Home
Mr. Demarle founded the Demarle Company in Lille, France, to manufacture and sell his trays. One of his first products was the Silpat®, a non-stick baking mat that revolutionized the professional baking industry. The Silpat® and Roul’Pat® products are available at high-end retail kitchen stores. Silpat® and Roul’Pat® drive recognition and reflects a positive placement to build our brand.
The Demarle Company went on to produce a premiere line of products known as Flexipan®. This was an entirely new generation of baking molds and trays that were flexible, 100% non-stick, and easy to use, clean and store. They met the toughest quality standards and gave a fabulous gourmet presentation to everything they touched! But Guy Demarle was a scientist and inventor — not a great businessman. He was going to need help to effectively market his revolutionary new products.
An Entrepreneur Finds Demarle
In the early 1990’s, Mr. Patrice Jacquelin entered the picture. Patrice was a young entrepreneur from Burgundy, France, who had grown up in a family with a culture of cooking. He had a dream of building a career in the food industry, so he spent the next decade immersing himself in the international food industry. His persistent dream was to someday find a great product that he could use to build a business of his own. Voile! Patrice found what he was looking for in Demarle. He bought the business and began looking for ways to bring the innovative Demarle products to gourmet kitchens around the world. Flexipan® molds and trays would soon became standard cooking and baking equipment for professional chefs throughout 100 countries.
Demarle at Home is on the move—
“Demarlizing” American kitchens and providing incredible business opportunities from coast to coast across the U.S.!
Demarle at Home is Born
In 1995, after years of success in the professional market, Patrice Jacquelin wanted more! He had the entrepreneurial dream of expanding his business into the non-professional market. Because Demarle products were so unique, he brilliantly chose direct sales as the way of marketing and distributing his products through the “in-home” demonstration. His vision was that the Flexipan® molds and trays could be enthusiastically demonstrated to people who loved cooking — right in a kitchen! He also knew some of these same people, with a need for extra income, flexibility, etc., would become excited about building their own entrepreneurial businesses with Demarle’s unique products.
Demarle’s first direct-sales program began in France with enthusiastic acceptance. Soon international operations were launched in Belgium, Germany and England followed by a merger with Sasa, one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of professional baking racks. Today Sasa is a $70 million company, with Demarle contributing more than 42% to its annual revenue.
